NT is booted by ntldr, different from Win98. I guess what you mean is starting XP the way you type win in Win98 DOS to start 98~~~ not possible

Using Grub, you really can jump to the hard disk boot sector under pure DOS to start XP.

grub for dos can directly load ntldr under DOS to start NT-series systems.
