Right now I have DOS and XP, and the system's default boot system is DOS. I want to change it to XP, but I don't know how. Could one of you brothers tell me? I'd be extremely grateful!

There's a simple way:

First enter WinXP, then open "System Properties" and go to "Startup Settings". There's a graphical interface in there that can be used to change the default startup setting value.

In 2000 it is:
System Settings — Advanced — Startup and Recovery
