My motherboard is an ASUS P4PE-X, with an integrated sound card on it, the model is the ADI AD1980 six-channel output audio controller chip. How can I make it output sound under MS-DOS 7.1?

It has its own driver disk, but they're all drivers for Windows; there are no drivers for DOS. I tried loading the drivers it uses under win9x and windows95 in config.sys, but every time it would crash before even getting into DOS.
