I installed the GHOST software under WIN98, so why can't I find it under DOS? Please let me know.
I want to back up the WIN98 system so that if the system has problems I can restore it. Thanks for the help, and it would be best if you could also explain the steps. |

The simplified version of GHOST downloaded from the internet can actually be used as soon as you extract it. You can extract it to any drive other than C. For example, put it in D:\GHOST. Then boot into DOS, use "d:" to switch to drive D, then "DIR" and you will see the GHOST directory, then "CD GHOST" to switch to the D:\GHOST directory, and type "GHOSTXX" to run it. Use the DIR command to check the actual filename of GHOST.

The GHOST2003 you installed under WIN98 actually refers to Ghost Explorer. It's also called the clone ghost manager. It is used to open and edit GHO image files. It can also extract and restore a single file from a GHO image. As for
GHOST.exe, moderator mys has already explained it very clearly. As for how to use it, I remember there is an introduction somewhere in the forum. Go search for it yourself. When using it, be sure you understand it clearly before using it!!!! Also, GHOST.exe should be used in DOS. |

Thanks for the help from the friends above. Another problem has come up: after entering the GHOST interface, when it gets to backup, the cursor does not work. Please
help answer this. |

You need to load the mouse driver before running it in order to use the mouse
that is, run mouse.exe or mouse.com first |

Thanks for the help from the friends above. Another problem has come up. (1) After entering the GHOST interface, when it gets to backup, I can't make a backup (the left and right keys and Enter do not work). Please help answer this. (2) When making a backup, can I run GHOST in the WIN98
interface, and then run GHOST under DOS when restoring? Please help answer this. |

Backup can be done under WIN98, but when restoring it's best to do it under pure DOS.
In tdj's link there is an explanation by Master Rushi, very detailed. You can go take a careful look, and it will definitely solve the problem. |

First, thanks for everyone's help. The problem has come again. (1) When I back up the WIN98 system I choose the Local→Partition→To Image menu----drive C-----drive F (to store the backup)--but when I press the left and right keys and Enter they do not work, while the up and down keys do work. I don't know the reason. (2) Option (settings items; under normal circumstances just use the default values) Please explain the items inside, because my English is poor and I can't understand them.
I always keep troubling everyone, really embarrassing. Many thanks. |

Your mouse isn't behaving~ I'll tell you how to control it with the keyboard. Try using it together with the TAB key and see if that works better.
