c: 1.5G fat32 win98
d: 4G fat32 WinXP
e: 10G fat32 applications & games
f: 20G fat32 various documents & music, pictures, basically not changed much
g: 10G fat32 CD images, movies, and other large files
h: 12G fat32 backups of various software, drivers, etc.

I heard that setting the cluster size larger is good for transferring large files, so I set g:'s cluster size to 32k (PQ Patition Magic —— it can't go any larger), and all the others are 4k (the default cluster sizes when formatting Win98 on drive c and XP on drive d are both 4k)

Experts, is the cluster size I've set like this reasonable? This problem is really troubling me no end!!

If you can't be bothered to reply, please at least give me a link to some relevant materials, thanks

It's best if a partition's clusters are not smaller than 180GB, otherwise... see for yourself. Take care?????????????????????????????

A cluster is the smallest unit of disk storage (I'm not sure about systems like LINUX, OS/2, UNIX, etc.)
I think it's best to let the formatting program decide the cluster size.
Setting the cluster larger may improve the transfer speed of large files, but for current hardware systems, such improvement has little practical significance, and that partition of yours is only 10G
If the cluster is increased from 4K to 32K, the maximum number of files this partition can hold will also drop to the limit

Teamwork !
