Under DOS I want to get the return code after running a certain file such as GHOST. How do I use err2env?
For example, if I use COMMAND /Z and then run GHOST, it returns code 0.

Actually you can use a BAT file to do it. Below is a batch file I wrote. This file is used to display the exit code after a program runs. Please take a look:

REM Write the name of the program you want to run here
for %%a in (0;1;2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9) do if errorlevel %%a set testerr=%%a

echo Current errorlevel is : %testerr%

By the way, I have a question I don't understand: since REM just adds comments to the program and does not run, wouldn't it be fine simply not to write that line? What's the difference between adding it and not adding it? Thanks...!

Comments are just to make it clearer for yourself and everyone else. For example, if you want to modify the source code sometimes, this makes it more direct and easier.
