The following are all earlier versions.

Chinese version of dos help - 1: Open attachment

Chinese version of dos help - 2: Open attachment

This is a plain text document converted from the help file of pdos6.22. Although the version is a bit old, beginners can learn a lot about DOS from it. This article is recommended to be viewed with a DOS text editor such as EDIT after loading the Chinese system in pure DOS, otherwise garbled characters caused by incompatible table lines will occur.

At the same time, three executable files are attached:

UNDISK.EXE Image expansion tool, used to restore the image of PDOS6 made with HDCOPY
EXPAND.EXE Installation file expansion tool, used to directly restore the help file from the DOS installation file
HELPMAKE.EXE Help file management tool, used to convert the help file into a plain text file

This is the help document I sorted out again. The main changes are as follows:

1. Use "find /v" to remove the mark symbols not processed by HELPMAKE in the text;

2. Use hexc to replace the table line characters in the text with basic set characters, which can be viewed normally under win;

3. Changed the attachment content, changed expand.exe to hexc.exe, the former is easy to find under dos.

HEXC.EXE A string replacement program written by Feng Zhihong, which is popular because of its simplicity, portability and support for hexadecimal characters

In addition, no pagination and executable processing have been done. If you are interested, you can ask tdj for help.

This is the English help document made according to tdj's suggestion.

Brother willsort:
I really admire you! Little brother has already downloaded and collected it. But to be honest, with such a good basic tutorial, there are very few viewers, which also makes little brother feel cold! Ignoring the big watermelon and looking for sesame all over the ground. Don't understand??
It may also be that Brother willsort is too pedantic. Change the document name to "MS-DOS Command Bible" or "Super DOS Command Compilation" "DOS Command in One Month" and so on, and it is guaranteed to be prosperous. Why tell the truth? That's the trend now!!

I agree with the friend above. Also, thank you to friend willsort for providing the HELPMAKE.EXE help file management tool. My this software can no longer be read from the disk. Hope to upload more such things.

I used tm to convert the text into an exe, the size is much smaller, but it doesn't look good, and I have to modify it again.

Come on! I'm not as capable as you. I'm going to put it in the boot disk for emergency use.

This is the help document after my re - organization again. The main changes are as follows:

1. Use "find /v" to remove the mark symbols that HELPMAKE did not handle in the text;

2. Replace the table line characters in the text with basic set characters using hexc, which can be viewed normally under win;

3. Changed the attachment content, changed expand.exe to hexc.exe, and the former is easy to find under dos.

In addition, paging and executability processing are not done. If you are interested, you can ask tdj for help.

"Additionally, no paging and executability processing were done. If everyone is interested, you can ask tdj for help."

Oh my god! Is there a mistake? Brother willsort must have been overworked writing BAT files and mistook me for tdj.exe to call in. I'm an all-round expert who can beat Qiu Baojun in weightlifting and eat twice as much as Bill Gates. I can do my disk/fix work so-so. In English, only J, Q, K, A are my strong points. Although I haven't been in the forum for long, I can probably be counted as an "beneficial insect". Brother willsort won't force me into a corner, right?
The help document after brother willsort's re - arrangement does look more pleasing to the eye. After making it into an exe, it's only 196k. Compressing with upx didn't improve much, so I simply didn't compress it. This time, I found that this help document can be used as a Chinese textbook. The function of looking up and using immediately is not strong enough. Can brother willsort extract the English help as well, so that I can see if I can make a Chinese - English parallel file? If that's the case, the nutritional value must be much higher. The few magic weapons you gave me don't even have a readme, and in my hands they're like firewood sticks. I can only rely on brother willsort!

It looks quite appealing, but how to install DOS? I have installed Windows 98 and XP operating systems. Which version of MSDOS is in the second edition of Windows 98? Will installing DOS affect the normal operation of the existing operating system? Should I install the DOS system and Windows 98 in the same hard disk partition (C: drive)? Will the startup method change when the reinstalled DOS enters the DOS mode? Is it very helpful to learn DOS first if I want to play with Linux? My English level is very poor, how to remedy it? Also, about DOS commands: what are the internal commands and what are the external commands? What results will all these commands produce after operation? For example, how to save the generated files after running a certain program? There are specific text descriptions in the Windows environment, but in DOS, even the help is not available, and even if it is available, it is in English. I can't fully understand the meaning by looking up English dictionaries. Where are there such articles? Starting from scratch, I really don't know where to start. I'm at a loss. Tired! Please give me advice!!!

Re tdj & All friends:

tdj, don't blame me for treating you like calling tdj.exe. Because I'm just a not-too-bad bird, far from the state of hitting where I point. Currently, I can only be in the situation of not knowing if there's time to point after hitting, so I have to rely on others.

In two days, I'm going to "dive down". Now looking back, the nearly thirty-day winter vacation basically spent all the time and energy here. I really regarded this as another home of mine. Here has given me so much joy, so much pleasure, so much motivation; here I have also made many friends, learned many technologies, and got many treasures. Compared with the hundred or so yuan spent in internet cafes, it's also very worthwhile.

Currently, my situation is, no own machine, no own system, no own network cable, also算是a "three noes" person. I can only desperately throw money into the internet cafe every day. The schedule during this period is basically, in the morning, list the content I want to post or reply in detail on paper, in the afternoon, borrow my brother's machine which only has XP installed to input and debug the written content, then pack everything and dial up to send to the mailbox, then in the evening go to the internet cafe to download from the mailbox and post on the forum, and by the way see if there are any new messages. Sometimes, my brother's machine can't be used, then go directly to the internet cafe, input the program and debug with their WIN98 system, however, it's inevitably a bit timid. The reason is that once I opened the DEBUG window and was noticed by the internet cafe manager, without saying a word, installed "Restore Wizard" on this machine. The situation makes people can't help but miss the computer class in high school.

Among many operating systems, I love DOS the most, followed by WIN98. Among the programming languages, I love Batch the most, followed by TC, because that was the only choice in my era; however, times change, now I can only use the gorgeous and unfamiliar XP, and the batch script language under it is not the original taste at all, quite a bit of a bittersweet smile. There were three times, in a fit of impulse, downloaded the boot disk and installation disk of this site, however, after thinking it over for a long time, deleted them again. "Under the eaves" is an unsolvable knot for me. Wengier just suggested me to program under DOS7, here I reply, "Not because I don't want to, but because I can't".

Now, I'm going to leave. The feelings of leaving home twice linger in my heart, emotions arise, so there is this article! Hope there will be opportunities to come here to see everyone in the future.
