I'm someone who has just gotten in touch with computers, a real newbie. Hehe. I just want to ask all you experts: what can DOS do? I've only heard that doing programming has a lot of potential. But I haven't heard that learning DOS is something very marketable. And that does seem to be the case.!
There's another question. I have XP installed on my computer. I want to use GHOST under a DOS environment to make a backup file of the system partition. Can that be done? Specifically, how do I do it? And when restoring, what if I can't get into DOS? Please advise! Hehe.

What do you mean by “Can DOS put food on the table?” I got my current job precisely because of the knowledge I learned back in the DOS era.

Sigh, if you don't want to learn it, why ask so much

Wouldn't booting into DOS from a CD or floppy do the job

“......what if I can't get into DOS? Please advise!”

----> What do you need to get into DOS for? It can't put food on the table anyway!

With XP, you can use GHOST under DOS to make a backup file of the system partition, but what will you do if you can't get into DOS?

What everyone says makes sense, but after all I'm a newbie. So sometimes I speak rashly; please forgive me, everyone. If I want to make a backup, could you all recommend what tool would be good to use? Which one is quicker to learn and easier to remember? I've heard of GHOST, and PartitionMagic, and what other good software is there? Please advise! Little brother thanks you!

But... I don't know if you've noticed: nowadays when they're hiring, they ask how good you are at programming. Nobody asks you, "Young man, are you good at DOS?" Hehe. Right?

Hehe. I rather agree with what you said. Back then, if it hadn't been for..........
Sigh! Never mind. Haha. Start over from the beginning. You can lose anything, but you can't lose confidence!

Brother, it seems you still don't quite understand what I mean. What I mean is, can learning DOS serve as a skill to support your family? That is, can you rely on DOS to make a living? Hehe. Of course, asking it this way is a bit too harsh and too absolute. That's roughly what I mean.

You've got that wrong, brother. I'm studying computer science~ DOS as an operating system really, really has a lot to do with programming, but unfortunately I'm a newbie too. I only know that DOS can be used to recover things when the WINDOWS system crashes; I don't know much else. Could the really capable people here please give some guidance~ Also, how do you run DOS practice in the WINDOWS interface?

Actually, in hardware work, testing is rarely done directly under DOS! Generally it is done under DOS! So you can imagine that DOS still has value in existing!
