The more common method is to prepare the relevant BIOS file and flashing utility, and prepare a clean DOS boot disk. After booting, run the flashing utility and load the BIOS file to flash it. Usually the flashing utility under DOS needs parameters. At present, motherboard BIOSes on the market are mainly of three types: Award BIOS, AMI BIOS, and Phoenix BIOS. Award BIOS is a BIOS developed by Award Software, and it is one of the most widely used motherboard BIOSes. We can see this information on the first line of the startup screen. For example, “Award Modular BIOSV4.51G” tells us this is an Award BIOS, version 4.51. You only need to download the latest BIOS file matching your motherboard model from the Internet, run Awdflash.exe from the floppy disk in pure DOS mode, then follow the prompts step by step to successfully complete the motherboard BIOS update. Generally speaking, this process can be done in no more than two minutes. Instructions for using the various parameters of Awdflash.exe:　　/？: display help information　　/py: automatically complete the BIOS flashing task　　/sy: back up the original BIOS to disk　　/sb: forcibly skip the BootBlock module when upgrading the BIOS　　/cp: clear Plug and Play data (ESCD) after flashing is finished　　/cd: clear DMI data after BIOS flashing is finished　　/r: automatically reboot after BIOS flashing is finished　　/pn: do not run the upgrade program　　/sn: do not back up the old system BIOS file　　/sd: save DMI data to a file　　/cks: display the data of the backup file when updating the BIOS　　/tiny: use only a very small amount of memory　　/e: automatically return to the DOS command line after flashing is finished　　/f: use the original BIOS data during flashing　　/ld: clear CMOS data after flashing is finished and do not reboot the system　　/cksxxxx: compare and verify the old backup BIOS file with the new BIOS file Note that it is best to back up the BIOS file before flashing. During the flashing process, the power must not be cut and the system must not be rebooted. In addition, a damaged BIOS file can also cause the flashing to fail.
