Use a 98 boot disk to boot, and after installing 98, boot again with the XP CD and let it generate the boot menu, then it'll be fine!

Yeah.
Usually when installing systems, you install from high to low. If you install from low to high, XP won't be able to boot. After you finish installing 98, you'll find it won't boot. In 98, run "Shut down the computer and restart in MS-DOS mode", then enter DEBUG; after that, input the following commands in order: —NC： \BOOTSECT.DOS —RCX ：200 —W —Q Then set CD boot as first priority and put the XP CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the XP Setup welcome screen appears, there are three options to choose from; press the "R" key to repair the installation of XP Chinese edition. After that, I won't go into things like entering the administrator password. Finally enter 'BOOTCFG /REBUID and then execute FIXBOOT C： Reboot, OK! |

If the cdrom has finished COPYing the files, reboot and choose the Recovery Console, then use Bootcfg /add to add it, and XP will be restored.
To avoid having to COPY it again after reinstalling 98 in the future, it's best after getting back into XP to use CMD>winnt32 /cmdcons to install the console... |
