I can't find the battery on my motherboard. Please give me some advice.

There definitely is one. On some old motherboards the battery is cylindrical. There is also another kind of motherboard that may use some sort of sealed-in battery. I once saw a motherboard with no battery on it, but there was a square-box-like component; you had to use a wire to short its pins in order to remove the password in the BIOS.

There is indeed a kind of motherboard with no obvious battery. Actually it does have one: it is a rechargeable battery sealed inside the motherboard. Generally only relatively old motherboards have this situation.

Probably. In 1995, in the school computer room, I saw a teacher's machine where I couldn't find the battery on the motherboard. At the time I had originally wanted to discharge it to clear the coms password and get into his machine, but ended up dumbfounded...

A motherboard without a battery can still save information; that really is too advanced. I don't know what chipset it is, but the big chipset manufacturers should learn from it!!

That must be using something like a DS12887. This kind of thing combines the battery and CMOS RAM together.
But aside from industrial control, very few consumer motherboards use it now. |

Go to the motherboard of a compaq server and find the battery for me. If you can find it, I'll admit defeat. Some motherboards may use a rechargeable capacitor as the battery, so you can't find a battery.

I've also run into this situation. I also wanted to discharge the motherboard, but couldn't find the battery. At the time I wondered if it was on the back of the motherboard, but I didn't go look. I suggest you try looking on the back of the motherboard.
