Dear all, I would like to ask how to enter DOS from Windows XP. I need to format the C drive and reinstall all software, and there is no A drive. Thanks.

... ... enter——F8——D ... ... !

If you don't understand, search upwards! There are plenty of articles introducing it.

Thanks, but I followed the prompt and pressing F8 didn't work, so I came online for help. What other methods are there if F8 doesn't work?

Is there a CD drive? If there is, you can boot the system with a DOS boot CD or DOS installation CD.

Where can I get a DOS boot disk? Can you send one to my email chriswu57@hotmail.com? I can also receive it via MSN.

In addition, there is another problem. I can't download anything from any website now. I tried lowering the security level setting, but it didn't work. It was fine at first, and I don't know when or why it happened. When I click to download, it prompts that there is an error with a certain file and the download can't be completed. Is there any way to restore this function? Thank you everyone

From XP, pressing F8 and CTRL+F5 cannot enter pure DOS. Only when using the XP boot CD to install, delete the partition and then format.

gotomsdos is right. My experience is to use an XP CD, then set the BIOS to boot from the CD. When it boots to the part where it says "from cd..." or something like that, press any key. Then press F6 to format the hard drive. After formatting is done, it will prompt to install XP. If you don't format, the system will automatically detect the capacity of the target disk to be installed. If the capacity is not enough, it will prompt to delete the partition, then press F6 to format, and then it's installation. At that time, you'll understand because it's in Chinese prompts. XP doesn't have DOS. So you can't enter it. If you want to have an interface like a bar in the XP system, then there's a program command in the XP start menu called "Command Prompt" (if you can't find it, you can type those words in the search and you'll find it). After opening it, it's like the MS-DOS interface of a bar. -- What I said may not be correct because I'm also very green, please excuse me.

The little sister said that it's not bad to say so many things! I'm quite happy that my suggestion is a bit helpful to you. But the bar interface you mentioned, it's not MSDOS, it's just setting the WINDOWS interface to a black background, you can set it yourself too. Hehe! But when formatting a floppy disk in 2000 XP, you can make a simple boot disk, and you can use it to boot into pure DOS.

Bootable disks. Now I can make them, but I still don't know exactly what their uses are and in which aspects they are applied! Could you give me some pointers? I'd be extremely grateful!

1. In the BIOS settings, set CDROM as the first boot device.
2. Boot from the XP CD.
3. Follow the prompts step by step after booting, don't say you don't understand Chinese.
