My XP was downloaded.
When I was about to install it, I formatted drive C in DOS. Then I went into the XP directory and typed SETUP, but it just wouldn't install (I'm sure I was in that directory). The prompts were: this program cannot be run in dos mode I've also gotten this prompt: program too big to fit in memorg ---------------------- I'm a newbie, I hope everyone can help me out and give me a correct installation method, thanks! PS. Running XP's SETUP under 98 can install it, no problem. |

To install WinXP under DOS you use the WINNT command, not the SETUP command.

Prompt: this command can't be used in DOS, it's --> winnt

No way, I've installed it N times, seems like you just need to boot from cd and it's fine (restart)

Yes, you should go into I386 and run Winnt.exe
