I had never come into contact with DOS before. I only got into it because some courses in my self-study exams require operating under a DOS environment!
I want to ask, my system is XP, and I heard that under this kind of system you can't enter a DOS environment to work in it. Is that true? Could one of the experts give me some guidance? Do I need to install a 98 system as well?

You can download a dos71 online and install it, that will do. I forgot the address, go look for it yourself.

Reinstall the system!!!!!!

Format directly, then download a dos6.22 (specific location omitted)

Then go to borland and download a tc2.0 or tc++1.0

Then OK!

If I download a DOS7.1 onto a floppy disk and put it in the floppy drive, then use XP's command prompt to execute a:dosver, would that let me
call the DOS7.1 on the floppy through the command prompt?
Then could I directly use the DOS on the floppy?

Installed MSDOS--7.10
But after installing it, some practice disks won't run
