I set a hard disk boot password in coms on my IBM laptop, and now I've forgotten the password, so the hard disk can't boot. Luckily I didn't set a power-on password. I'd like to ask, is this hard disk password the hard disk logical lock? Can I use the methods on the DOS forum to remove the password? Thanks!

This isn't a logical lock. On IBM laptops it is recorded in CMOS. Try changing the hard disk serial number and see if making it identify incorrectly will work!

Your hard disk can't boot, but can a floppy disk boot? If it can, then use this in debug:
o 70 00
o 71 00

and that should do it,

If you've forgotten your password.
At the DOS prompt enter the debug command
to enter edit mode
then enter
o70 21
o71 21
If you're lucky,
you'll crack it.
Hehe!
