Hello, I would like to ask whether only MS-DOS supports long filenames, and whether others such as ROM-DOS7, PC-DOS7, PC DOS 2000, and DR-DOS7 do not support them. Please let me know. Thanks |

ROM-DOS 7.1, like MS-DOS 7.1, also supports long filenames.

Hello, thank you for answering my question, but I still don't understand it very well. I am using ROM-DOS7 with DOSLFN loaded, but it still cannot display long Chinese and English filenames. Please help. Thanks |

Actually, ROM-DOS 7.1 supports English long filenames even without loading DOSLFN, but it does not support Chinese long filenames.

Hello, thanks for your reply. I just want to display Chinese long filenames in ROM-DOS, but I don't know whether what I'm using now is the real ROM-DOS7. Even without loading DOSLFN, it still can't display English long filenames. I saw in the boot forum that DOSLFN may conflict with CD-ROM drivers. I'm using SHSUCDX and don't know whether it conflicts. Below is the AUTOEXEC。BAT file on my disk; please help me take a look, thanks. @echo off break on lfnfor on verify on set dircmd=/OGN /4 set comspec=a:\command.com tm.exe /f killer.exe doskey.com shsucdx.exe /D:IDE-CD,z ctmouse.exe ctmouse.exe>nul mousclip.exe /m set ramdrive= xmsdsk 1024 /y findramd>nul if %ramdrive%#==# goto noram copy command.com %ramdrive%\>nul path=%ramdrive%\;%path%\;z:\;z:\ccdos\ set comspec=%ramdrive%\command.com :noram escape.exe echo. ccdos dfkc2k cls doslfn ntfsdos Thanks |

DOSLFN will not conflict with SHSUCDX.
