Recently, inspired by the forum admin, I added pure DOS 7.10 on top of my original WinXP and WinME dual-boot system. Now starting the DOS system from the boot menu is extremely fast; but there is one small flaw, and I hope to get some advice from the forum admin. I have always supported DOS.
What I did was rename the extensions of DOS 7.1's msdos.sys, io.sys, command.com, config.sys, and autoexec.bat all to .dos, then copy them to drive C (the partition where WinME is located), and then modify the boot.ini file (using the win95, win95dos parameters) to make it work. The result is pretty good, except that after DOS 7.1 starts, there is always a line saying "can't find win.com,can't
continous loading windows". Although it does not affect use, it is still not perfect enough. I spent three days and tried every possible method, but still could not get rid of that line. So I am asking the forum admin for help!
