I'd like to ask all you experts: how do I install DOS 7.10 under WIN2000?
I installed it before, and I remember I downloaded the installation file from the forum too, but now I've forgotten again. Please give me a hand! |

At first glance I thought it was Roy. Where to download it? Right here on this forum, look around slowly.

The specific method is:
First use the SYS command (for example SYS C to transfer the DOS system files to drive CThen save the information in the master boot sector at this time (that is, the DOS boot information) to the file C:\BOOTSECT.DOS. This can easily be done with a small tool called SRC Tools in this site's "Disk Tools". Among them, SRCBOOT, SRCMBR, and SRCFAT are commands for saving, backing up, and comparing BOOT, MBR, and FAT respectively. The specific usage of the SRCTools collection can be found in a special article in the "DOS Articles" section. For example, SRCBOOT C: C:\BOOTSECT.DOS /S will save the boot sector of drive C to the file C:\BOOTSECT.DOS. At this point the BOOTSECT.DOS file has been successfully created. Next is to restore the WinNT/2K/XP boot information, which can be done with the BOOTPART tool mentioned above, such as BOOTPART WINNT BOOT:C:. Then you only need to modify the BOOT.INI file as described below. I can't understand it. I don't know anything about boot sectors or boot information! Can you explain it in less technical terms? Be more specific. |

Watch carefully during installation. It can automatically create a dual-boot menu.
