DOS 7.1,

After loading doslfn, I want to copy a directory on D:\, for example TENCENT, to c:\program files. That directory contains a large number of long-name subdirectories and long-name files. If I use xcopy, it doesn't support long filenames. If I use the COPY command, it's really too troublesome.

So I'd like to ask all the experts here, is there any method or software that can do this? (Writing a batch file would also be fine. How should it be written? Please tell me, brothers. I'd be extremely grateful!)

Use file managers like vc, nc, pcdt, etc. . .
Do you have to do it from the command line?

If using the command line, is there software like that?
Also, I've heard that xclone from the new DOS era supports long filenames, but after I loaded doslfn and tried it, it didn't work.
For example:
c:\>xclone d:\tencent c:\progra~1\tencent
As a result, not only were all the long filenames changed to ones ending in ~1, but QQ was broken too. How can I make it support long filenames?

XCLONE does support long filenames, but unfortunately when it runs it automatically checks whether Win9x is running. Only if it is will it use long filenames; otherwise it only uses short filenames.

If you want command-line XCOPY with long filename support, you can use the COPY /S command in 4DOS 7.5. For example:

4DOS /C COPY /S source folder target folder

That way, after the copy is finished, 4DOS will automatically exit.

The oldest old grandpa in the village told me that something like this had once happened in the jianghu too. Later, a young expert appeared, and this was how he solved it——————————————————copy *.*
