I want to ask two questions:
First: how can I control a batch file so it can only copy files in 8.3 format? Second: how can I make it not display the cpoy process while copying? Thanks... |

Only copy files in 8.3 format, be a bit more specific: do you mean don't copy anything longer than 8.3, or copy it into a ~x style name
Not showing the copy process while copying, copy a b >nul // a source file b destination file // > pipe symbol // nul virtual device |

Sorry, I'm not very clear on the details either. The following is my assignment
write a well documented, and tested DOS batch file, that will accept a file name and its extension (ie. in short 8.3 format for DOS) as the first command line parameter. |

Older versions of DOS could only copy files in 8.3 format, but newer versions of DOS are not necessarily like that.
