The poster above misunderstood what I meant. I've used winlinux2003 before, Linux installed under win98.
But what I want is a DOS-based xwindow |

KDE and GNOME are “desktop systems” that run under X-Window. They can run on all Unix-based operating systems, including FreeBSD, NetBSD, AT&T Unix, Linux, etc., plus environments with the X-Window platform, so basically there is no such specific saying as “KDE under Linux.” The DOS edition of X-Window can be downloaded from the FreeDOS website.

I'm really embarrassed, moderator, I couldn't find it on the FreeDOS website, and not anywhere else either

I feel KDE is quite a bit better than GNOME, but so far I still haven't seen KDE that can run under DOS X-WIN..

Oh, then does that mean there is GNOME under DOS in this world?
Where is it? Why can't I find it no matter what? |

Question for wengier: does this x-win you mentioned have lots of DOS support, such as setting what graphics card, what IP address, and it seems it can also help you install the NIC driver? I installed one before, not sure whether it's the one you're talking about. Because I couldn't find RTL8139 in its NIC list, and my English is poor, in the end I still didn't manage to install it.
