Sorry, I'm just starting to learn DOS.
Under Win2k, I downloaded the full installation edition of ms-dos 7.10 from the DOS era. After extracting it, how do I install it? It doesn't seem to have any executable file. Was there a problem with the download? Or is no installation file needed? Thanks! |

After extracting it, is it an ISO file or an IMG file?
If it's in ISO format, then you need to burn it onto a CD-R with a burner. If it's in IMG format, then you need to use HD-COPY or WinImage to write it to a floppy disk. |

It's in IMG format, and there's also another file with the extension diz.

I'm using a company machine, and it doesn't have a floppy drive.
Can't it be installed directly from the hard disk? Could you explain it in a bit more detail? Thanks a lot. |

HD－COPY can only extract to a floppy disk. Can I use gettype to extract it to the hard disk and then install it?

That DIZ file is the usage instructions for the IMG file. After using UNDISK to extract it to the hard disk, installing it directly is no problem.

But undisk runs under the Win9x/NT platform. I'm using a dual-system setup with 2k (Traditional Chinese edition) and XP (Simplified Chinese edition).
No floppy drive, but there is a CD-ROM drive. What should I do? Please advise! |
