If an IMG file is burned onto a CD-R, will it definitely end up as a file with contiguous addresses? Like what a boot floppy requires?
Also, compared with (hd0,0) and (fd0), how is the CD-ROM drive represented? |

The question isn't very clear. An IMG is an image file, usually a floppy disk image (there are also CD images and hard disk images). It can be burned directly to a CD as a file, or it can be restored from the image into files and then burned to the CD. Which one do you mean?

Here's the situation: moderator wenger once said that when using grub for dos to boot a .img file on the hard disk by emulating floppy boot, the .img must be stored in contiguous hard disk space.
So I'm thinking, if that IMG is burned onto a CD, can it be guaranteed that the file will be stored contiguously on the CD? |
