I haven't used 3xStart yet.
Your article says, “It will automatically modify the C:\IO.SYS file in MS-DOS 7.10,” Can it modify the IO.SYS on drive A: instead?? |

It automatically modifies the IO.SYS on C:\, so as long as you modify the IO.SYS on C:\, then use commands like SYS to transfer it to drive A:, that will do.

I mean I don't want to modify the io.sys on drive C: If I change it, will it affect booting into 98? |

Absolutely no effect, you can be completely at ease. I've always been using it this way, and it also has an automatic restore function.

I did it under pure DOS in a virtual machine (vmware)
and then SYSed it out. I don't want to modify 98's io.sys |
