It automatically modifies the IO.SYS on C:\, so as long as you modify the IO.SYS on C:\, then use commands like SYS to transfer it to drive A:, that will do.

I did it under pure DOS in a virtual machine (vmware)
and then SYSed it out. I don't want to modify 98's io.sys
