There is an old computer, the CMOS has no power, and the hard drive cannot boot. Is there any software that can solve this problem? Can the DM universal version do it? It seems that it doesn't read information from the BIOS.

The CMOS losing power only causes the CMOS storage information to be lost. As long as the BIOS searches for the hard disk by itself, it can boot the system on the hard disk. If you see the display information, it indicates that the BIOS is not damaged.

Note that it's "CMOS is out of battery power", resetting it again doesn't remember, and the battery can't be replaced, the battery is soldered on.

It doesn't work. It seems that a battery is definitely needed. When there's no battery, other things can be detected, but the hard disk can't be detected!

I haven't heard of batteries that can't be removed. Is your computer a 286? If that's the case, I don't know because I haven't used a 286, heh. Replace the battery. Without the CMOS configuration table, the BIOS doesn't know where to boot from.

There is indeed a kind of motherboard where the battery is solidified on the motherboard, which is a rechargeable battery. Generally, when the motherboard has no power, it can still start, but the CMOS parameters need to be reset. The hard drive can also be booted without using BIOS but with software, but an old - style graphics card is needed, which is neither PCI nor AGP.

It can completely use DM, and it doesn't read BIOS information.

If you use win98, you can find the hard disk by yourself. But this kind of old machine may not be able to boot up, :(

Just activate the hard drive directly, but you need to install the operating system on the hard drive on another computer first.
