China DOS Union

After I installed QEMM 97, every startup takes a very long time checking memory. If I don't use QEMM, this problem doesn't happen.
Every time it starts up it has to check the memory QEMM can use, and after checking it once it still has to verify it once more. Is there any parameter or method to turn off the checking?
One more question: can QEMM 97 only use 256M of memory? I have 512M. EMM386 can detect 512M, but it seems to hang when actually using it. QEMM 8 is 64M.

Then what about using UMBPCI?

When I use UMBPCI, I only get 5K of upper memory. I'm using an 865 motherboard. UMBPCI says UNTESTED~
But there really isn't much upper memory. As a result, after startup DOS only has 570K. MSCDEX and SMARTDRV etc. are all in conventional memory, taking up more than 60K total. As for the others, unlike SYSTEM, I don't know where they got moved to. It only takes 9K, which is normal.

SYSTEM has gone to HMA, located at FFFF:0000-FFFF:FFF0, 64K total.
Generally speaking, as long as you have loaded HIMEM.SYS and DOS=HIGH, you can use HMA

Why is it that when I use UMBPCI I basically don't get any upper memory at all? Only 16K total. Today when I started up and looked, conventional memory was only 520K.
After adding EMM386 it got a tiny bit better. But then doesn't that mean UMBPCI has no real use? Isn't that just EMM386's function?? It doesn't even provide EMS support~
