I used srcboot to restore the boot for d:\xp, and it showed success; but it won't boot anymore, and everything on drive c's 98 is all garbled; after running scandisk, drive c is full of file0001.chk or file00...chk; except for one intact command.com; how do I recover these files;
could some expert please teach me, just save your little brother's life ;thanks in advance !!!!!!! |

Sigh~ many thanks, moderator; anyway I don't dare use it anymore, Bootpart is still more reliable; and how can I recover as much as possible from this whole drive full of * .CHK files generated by that MS scan? Although I restored with ghost; if I run into this again in the future, I still won't know how to solve it, so I still hope some expert or friend who has dealt with this problem can tell your little brother 。。。many thanks.

The so-called “SrcBoot/FAT mistake” happens because some boot information on drive C has changed, but it gets restored to the contents of an earlier backup (because SrcTools only does backup/restore, and does not “rewrite” like BootPart). If this happens, you should immediately update or restore, and do not run SCANDISK, to avoid causing problems.

Although I still don't know how to recover .chk files, now I know under what circumstances I must not run scandisk again. Many thanks, moderator.
