Put io.sys and those into a folder too? That doesn't seem to work. Maybe some third-party software can do this, but I haven't seen it.

You just need to change the driver paths in config.sys, then change the PATH environment variable, and if needed, modify autoexec.bat too, and it'll be OK (if PATH is set correctly, you can use external commands directly, otherwise you'll have to add the path)

Except for the two files io.sys and msdos.sys, which must be in "C：\", all the other files, including command.com, can be put elsewhere! The method is as stated by the poster above; the location of command.com can be specified in the comspec environment variable
