What I mean is:
I want to use one file to tell what system it is, like win98, win2K, xp, etc.; what file would be good for that? I originally used pdos95.bat to mark win98, but I'm afraid someone might delete it... |

Ha, I think for win98 just use win98.bat or pwin98.bat, and for win2k just use win2k.bat...

Geez.....
Let me explain: if I want to know what operating system is installed on drive C, then I let the program check whether the file C:\windwos\command\pdos95.bat exists; if it does, then treat it as win98..... |

Geez, this isn't very broadly applicable...
What if you run into MiniWin98? |

If it's a special case like that then I'll do it manually, because I'm targeting ordinary users, and the most likely cases are 98/2k/xp; NT is rare enough...
Not to mention MiniWin98... |

PDOS95.BAT? What if it's English win98 or Traditional Chinese edition Win98? What if only MS-DOS 7.10 plus the PDOS95 Chinese character support system plugin is installed, without win98?

That's exactly why I'm asking everyone what to use?????????//I'm not asking everyone to judge whether using pdos95.bat is good or not........
And what about win2k and xp/? |

I still think using a directory as the marker is a bit more precise... though it would be a little more troublesome
