I'm using the 4DOS shell, and I can't switch to the CD-ROM drive letter. It shows -Invalid path "H" , but if I use Win98's command.com it's normal. So how should the path here be set? Do I still need to specify it?

I just tried running 4DOS 7.50 registered version with the 4DOS.INI config file above, but I don't seem to have found any problem.。。

Looks like the problem may be with the 7.01 version I downloaded. It shouldn't be my other configuration, right? But if I switch to command it works, which shows the other configuration is fine too. I'll go try 7.5. Thanks.

Wengier : 4dos75's findcd prompt also finds the CD-ROM drive, but it says cd-rom not ready and asks me whether to retry or give up. If I immediately switch to Win's command, I can switch to H: just fine. What could be causing this? Could it be that I need to use something from 4DOS, maybe sys the system first, before 4dos.com can be used normally?

The following is quoted from xiaojun's post on 2003-8-15 2:53:17: Really? I haven't noticed this problem. Also, what is “WIN's COMMAND”? A command run under WIN? Or do you mean C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND? |

The following is quoted from xiaojun's post on 2003-8-15 3:21:44: That's the standard DOS command processor.。。 |

Can you list a few possible causes of this problem? I'll look for them one by one and try them one by one.

How do I solve the problem that after switching to 4DOS as the command processor, I can't enter the CD-ROM drive letter?

I've tried both oakcdrom.sys and VIDE-CDD.SYS, and both are like this; I'll try ATAPICDD.SYS next. If it still doesn't work I'll come back and ask. :)

It's already solved. There was no problem with any of those sys files. If there's a CD in the drive, 4DOS works normally in every way; unlike Win's command processor, if there's no disc, it can't switch to the cdrom drive letter. That's how 4DOS is on my machine, strange.
