When I run Chinese Paladin 1, MS-DOS says XMS is short by 830K. How can I solve this?
How do I load extended memory under DOS and raise conventional memory to above 570K?

I’m a real newbie when it comes to DOS, so please explain in more detail. Thanks.

I totally can't understand it. It feels like it has nothing to do with my problem.
Right now the main thing is solving the MS-DOS message that XMS is short by 830K.
Could you please explain it in more detail? Even moderators in a lot of places can't handle this problem.

Look at the specific configuration in its config file

This problem is actually very easy to solve... In the old posts in this forum's "DOS Problem Discussion" section, I already posted the solution.

XMS short by 830K basically means there is no XMS, unless you don't even have 1M of memory? Check whether the core memory-management files, himem.sys and emm386.exe, have been loaded correctly
