1. First run DOSLFN, then commands like COPY in MSDOS7.1 can support long filenames;
2. Use a long filename copy tool such as LCOPY to copy files,

I ran DOSLFN, but XCOPY still copied them out in 8.3 format. Does that mean after running DOSLFN I still have to use LCOPY to do the copying?

It's that 16-bit XCOPY itself doesn't support long filenames..

Yes. xxcopy has a 32-bit version too.

Note: This version is compatible with WinXP SP1 and Win2K SP3.

If you are trying to clone a bootable Windows9X/ME system disk
You should go to XXTB #10 and print out the instruction, first
(you can download the freeware from that page as well).

Both XXCOPY and XXCOPY16 are packaged in one download file.

This is the professional trial version. But without the password there's no way to extract it.
The password is 12 characters long and consists of uppercase and lowercase letters. If anyone is interested, just brute-force search for its extraction password.
