MS-DOS 7.10 is the most practical and most widely used DOS currently because it is powerful, such as supporting various FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 partitions, large hard drives, large memory, long filenames, etc., and it is very practical with very good compatibility. And on it, you can use the WIN command to start the famous GUI programs under DOS - Windows 3.x and Windows 9x.

If Win9x has been installed in the system and then MS-DOS 7.10 is installed, the installation program usually prompts whether to automatically set the path of Win9x during installation so that you can directly enter the WIN command to enter Win9x. At this time, please choose "Yes". In this way, after MS-DOS 7.10 is successfully installed and started, if you want to enter Win9x, you only need to enter the WIN command under the DOS command line. If WinNT/2K/XP has been installed in the system and then MS-DOS 7.10 is installed, the installation program usually automatically makes a dual boot of DOS and WinNT/2K/XP. After MS-DOS 7.10 is successfully installed, the dual boot menu will automatically appear when the system starts. Select "MS-DOS 7.10" in the menu to enter the installed MS-DOS 7.10.

Use the SYS command to put the system files onto the C drive, and then copy and configure the relevant files.

hwinfo489 detects hardware configuration information.

dm checks the hard disk.

I think the most important thing is to see if there are bad sectors on the hard disk.

It seems that the direct-run version is not as easy to use as the installed version.
