After booting up it can pass the self-test, but during boot it shows Disk I/O error, and then just stops there, I can only restart. I guess the MBR is damaged, but I don't know how to use Kv3000 or diskedit, so I used win98 to do an overwrite install. After messing around for half a day, I finally managed to get into the win98 graphical interface, but 2 days later it went back to the old situation again, showing Disk I/O error. I didn't touch anything. I checked with scandisk, and the hard drive has no bad sectors. Can anyone help me!!!! Thanks

Could it be that your data cable is bad! A friend of mine told me! As long as you carefully look over the motherboard! And think it through carefully! You'll find the problem!

It's very likely like the poster above said. You can try changing the cable. I've seen this before. It may be because one or two wires aren't making very good contact, so the hard drive can still be found in COMS, but who knows where it goes bad.

Check your data cable, and also, if your hard drive can be recognized, then 99% it's a virus causing trouble!!! P.S.: KV3000 manual. Open attachment
