When ECHO ON is in effect, ECHO itself will also be displayed. If you put @ in front of it, then ECHO will not be displayed. When ECHO OFF is in effect, then ECHO is not displayed, and in this case it will not be displayed whether there is an @ or not.

If there is an @ in front, it means this command itself is not displayed, only the result is shown!
