Yeah! I tried it. When it gets to MSDOS it stops, and then it shows start msdos~~~~~ The book says that if it only shows LI then the hard disk parameters are wrong, but I’ve tried many times and it still won’t work! Please, experts, help me!

You need to set the hard disk parameters, following in detail the settings written on the hard disk itself.

I don’t know what the hard disk parameters are. There are 99 options in cmos, right? I tried them all and none of them work. Please have a look, moderator!

I think you can find another machine and check your hard disk parameters there, then write them into your COMS and that should do it. If you suspect it’s the hard disk, you can first set the hard disk to unused and try booting from floppy to see if it works. If it can boot, then the parameters must be wrong!

Hard disk parameters, where do I get them from? My machine is a very old one. About 500+ MB, I think. When booting to the point where it should display LILO, it only shows LI. What should I do? How do I modify the parameters???? Help!!!!!~~

You can put the hard disk into another machine and check the parameters there!!! Then you should know what to do, right! Write them down, and then enter the hard disk parameters on your own machine and that should do it!
