China DOS Union

1) How do I go back to the parent directory? For example A:\WIN\SYSTEM cd
still stays at A:\WIN\SYSTEM
I simply can't go back to the parent directory.
2) Why can't the DOS I'm using execute jump-style paths? For example, commands like dir and cd have to be executed one directory level at a time, it's really too troublesome.
3) Why can't commands be executed directly on the parent directory? For example del, you have to delete the subdirectory first before you can delete the parent directory. Why can't you directly delete the parent directory together with its subdirectories?

cd \ goes back to the root directory, cd.. goes back to the previous directory
....go read a basic tutorial first,,,,,,,,,, moderators and experts basically won't answer questions like this
