Do you need the corresponding boot disk to install different versions of Windows? For example: can you use a Win98 boot disk to install Win95?
I'm running into this obstacle right now. I can't install Win95 using a Win98 boot disk.
Please don't laugh at me, my PC specs are too low, so I have no choice but to install 95

Why not install 98, trim what should be trimmed and delete what should be deleted? My 98 installation takes only a bit over 100 MB at most. As for specs, my drive is 6G, and it still has 2 or 3 ghosts, 1 xp, plus 98 and xp img files, and it's still very fast. The memory is only 64mb. Higher than yours? About the same, right

It's not a hard drive size issue, but a conflict between 98 and the motherboard

Try my Super MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk. Once you boot with a DOS boot disk, you can install any version of WIN.

Your DOS really is powerful and rock-solid. But converting that .img is troublesome, and I'd have to start from scratch learning cd copy too, I don't have time to wait

What motherboard?
Uncle, are you interested in helping me solve this? Actually the computer isn't all that ancient, it's just: cy 200.,32MB,4.3g hard drive. It's just that the motherboard tx2000 (don't know what brand, couldn't find it anywhere even after searching all over the net) seems to have a bug. As soon as it runs 98, it keeps giving errors and conflicts; even a fresh install is the same. It used to have 95 installed, and that ran fine. But I formatted it.
Very strange, even flashing the BIOS to the 99 version didn't help at all

Download an HD-Copy for Windows, extract it directly and write the boss's 7.10 img to drive A:, then use that to boot and install. Why learn HD-Copy at all? The DOS version is the same, just read and write directly, that's all.

So you can put an .img file onto a floppy even without using HD-COPY??
