I'm totally clueless about DOS. Today I suddenly got the idea to learn DOS.
I want to install a pure DOS system, then install a WIN system, separately on drive C and drive D. Poor me, I've never used DOS before, so I don't know where to start. I'd appreciate it if all you experts could point me in the right direction |

First get familiar with the commands in the DOS window under WIN. You can also download and make a DOS boot disk, and use a floppy to boot DOS for practice.

Note that when installing DOS, you must make sure the hard disk partition format is FAT16.

Use a virtual machine to learn.......... but some BUGs will make you unhappy..........

Hehe, if it's just a temporary whim, then don't install it. Use a virtual machine, or a floppy disk. If it's a WIN9X system, then using the window is also fine.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but after all the experts here said their piece, I really find it baffling and can't make heads or tails of it.
What I'm asking is how to install the system, and how the hardware gets drivers. Please explain it a bit more clearly. Thanks in advance. |
