I have a lot of problems. My broadband is based on a Netcom LAN, no dial-up needed. After it was installed, in just 2 days it became slow as a crawl. I found there were two network cards; delete one and another comes back. Later I couldn't get online at all. I restored with GHOST and found a lot of users on the local network in Network Neighborhood. I installed Tianwang; security did get better, but the network speed got slower, and all day long people keep PINGing my address and sending me packets. Today it hasn't stopped all day. I want to turn off Tianwang so the speed can be faster, but I'm worried about security, so I'm asking the experts what to do. And reinstalling the system doesn't help either.
Also, these past few days I got hit by a trojan called SysMedia.exe. It keeps automatically being allowed to run in Tianwang and sends packets to others. I unchecked it in startup, deleted the key value in the registry, edited an INI file to delete it, and deleted it under MS-DOS, but as soon as it starts up everything is back again: in startup, in Tianwang, and in the registry. This file is in windows\system. I can't find its associated file, the one that keeps writing into the registry. I used a trojan remover to kill it once too, but it still didn't find anything. Asking for help!
