Why is it that after I boot into DOS with a boot disk, I can't format drive C? format c: It keeps saying the password is wrong. Please help me, thanks!

I've run into this too, but it was DOS switched from within Windows. In the end I could only delete the partition. What's going on? Is Format missing?

Does your boot disk have the Format command file on it?

You have to use a 98 boot disk. The XP one doesn't have commands for formatting, partitioning, etc.!

Recommended: use the boot disks made by the experts here. A disk made under XP is garbage~~~
