I strongly suggest adding a dedicated thread for posting the usage methods of various software under DOS. In this topic, it would specifically introduce the use of DOS software and various tips, just like how magazines introduce software usage methods under Windows. This would help DOS software flourish even more, and everyone would know better how to use DOS software. It would be a blessing for DOS software enthusiasts (for example, how to use PCTLOOL
and so on. For DOS software downloaded back, there are only simple notes, but no detailed explanation of what it is used for and how it should be used) ÷ Please call on everyone to support this |

Completely agree! Please have the moderators consider it. This is really for the sake of enthusiasts like us who are still fairly new!

Could we reorganize this “DOS software usage methods” section together with the current “DOS software downloads” section into a bigger “DOS Software World” section to provide software usage materials and downloads? Because there are already quite a lot of sections now (there are already 7 DOS sections alone in the forum)...

wengier, nobody said to open a separate section, just to list a separate thread.

All right then... let's put some introductions to the software on the site into one thread under the “DOS software downloads” section, and pin it, how about that?
Thanks to Ahai for the praise, but I really don't count as an expert... I'm just a middle school student... |

Writing a few simple ones is possible. But there is too much DOS software; it's impossible to write about every single one.
Also, please don't always expect to rely on reading this kind of article. You have to actually use DOS software to understand it. Questions like “what is it for, and how should it be used” should 1。be answered by reading the software's readme document. You should get into the habit of reading the software's readme document. Generally, the software's purpose, the software's hardware requirements, the software's software environment requirements, the software's installation, the software's usage methods, tips for using the software, things to pay attention to while using the software, and the software's support (meaning how to contact the software author, or the website URL where this software was released, or its technical forum) will all be explained in the software's Readme document. 2。Learn how to ask the software for its help information Generally speaking, the software itself will have quite a lot of help information. Because whether under Windows or under DOS, software is supposed to have a “user-friendly interface”. If it doesn't provide “help information”, people won't know how to use the software. Can it still be called “user-friendly”? Hehe... Of course, you have to know how to ask before it will answer. I already wrote a post specifically about this issue. It's already been pinned. There are also some software usage examples in it. I hope everyone can draw inferences from one example to another; that's what I most want to see. Very good, thanks,
what I said above was only meant to throw out a brick to attract jade, hoping more friends will join the ranks of DOS, and also hoping everyone can exchange with each other and truly bring this forum to a peak. I think that is the original intention of the moderator, right? Let everyone become skilled in using it, run into problems, discover problems, find out the problems, and gradually improve the level of DOS usage That's what you say! |
