I'm using win2000, and to learn DOS I installed Virtual PC. I downloaded the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk made by expert Wengier,
but it couldn't be used in the virtual machine, so I still used 6.22 (already installed). I also wanted to use some things from Wengier's boot disk, so I copied mousclip to the virtual hard disk. But when I run it, it says
no mouse driver found or driver too old
Isn't mousclip itself the driver? How can it give this message?

Also, does a DOS boot disk have installation functionality? If so, how should it be used? There is no
setup on the boot disk
I searched for a long time before finally finding a DOS 6.22 installer on a CD

I suggest installing VMware as the virtual machine instead... that way the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk (at least the first option) can boot normally... If you want to boot it under Virtual PC, just delete the CLOAKING command from the boot disk.

By “the second question,” do you mean “Also, does a DOS boot disk have installation functionality? If so, how should it be used? There is no setup on the boot disk”?

DOS boot disks generally do not come with installation/bootstrapping functionality, but you can install it manually~~ The specific method is to copy the system files (such as IO.SYS, etc.) to C:\, transfer the boot sector, and then copy the other related files to the hard disk.

For example, if I currently have 6.22 installed, and I have your 7.10 boot disk, then can I directly use the sys A: C: command to overwrite the 6.22 on drive C with the 7.10 from drive A, and that would count as installing 7.10??
