Why is it that after I load DOSLFN, it still doesn't support long filenames? DOS is a Win98 boot disk. After loading it, if I use DIR
to look at the CD-ROM, it's still in 8.3 mode, and when I use XCOPY COPY to copy things it's also in 8.3 mode.....
Please explain the detailed parameter settings....

Also, I have a USB optical mouse. After loading ASPIOHCI.SYS and ASPIUHCI.SYS it still won't work. Then I tried your super boot disk, and it still didn't work....
Also, in the "Driver Collection for USB Devices under DOS" on your website, how are OHCI.EXE and UHCI.EXE used?

Many thanks....

Then after using my MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk, did it support long filenames? Because my MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk already automatically loads DOSLFN when booting.

To make DOSLFN support long filenames on the CD-ROM, please see the DOSLFN documentation.

As for the USB mouse, just use OHCI/UHCI. Just run it directly.

I'm really sorry, but after using the boot disk it still doesn't support long filenames! What is the reason?

There just isn't any explanation (DOSLFN). My English isn't good, I can't understand it. Could you write one in Chinese? (You have an article about DOSLFN too, but it doesn't mention the parameters either).....
Many thanks....

Let me give an example. After I load DOSLFN and use the DIR command to view the directory listing:

Volume in drive D is xxxx
Volume Serial Number is 5678-EFAB
Directory of xxxx

. 12-28-2001 11:02 .
.. 12-28-2001 11:02 ..
BACH''''S~1 RMI 144,902 05-05-1999 22:22 Bach''''s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3.RMI
BEETHO~1 RMI 92,466 05-05-1999 22:22 Beethoven''''s 5th Symphony.RMI
BEETHO~2 RMI 21,312 05-05-1999 22:22 Beethoven''''s Fur Elise.RMI
DANCEO~1 RMI 20,906 05-05-1999 22:22 Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy.RMI
DEBUSS~1 RMI 27,940 05-05-1999 22:22 Debussy''''s Claire de Lune.RMI
INTHEH~1 RMI 38,444 05-05-1999 22:22 In the Hall of the Mountain King.RMI

7 file(s) 364,100 bytes
2 dir(s) 8,606.81 MB free

Among these, the part on the left is the short filename, while the part on the right (that is, the boldface part) is the long filename. For example, "MOZART~1.RMI" is the short filename, and the corresponding "Mozart''''s Symphony No. 40.RMI" on the right is the corresponding long filename.

The copied-out folders and filenames will become 8+3, and it's the same when viewed in Win98.

The following is quoted from digitaltom's post at 2003-7-17 18:34:31:

Impossible, unless it is being used incorrectly.
