You can use the TYPE command. The format is type file name extension. Note the space. If there are too many words, you can read it page by page. Add \|more at the end. Or directly use more file name to read.

It's best to use some third - party software. The Type command is relatively weak. For example, there is a Chinese reading software Cread.exe, which can view Chinese text without loading a Chinese system. English editing software like EDit.exe and QE.exe (QuickEdit) can not only view but also edit. To view Chinese characters when using these, you need to load a Chinese system, such as Ucdos, CCDOS, TW, XZL and so on.

Navigate to the directory where the file is located via the command prompt, then type "type filename.txt"
