Does booting with a Win98 installation disc, whether Win98 is installed or not, bring you into a pure DOS environment? And if you boot with an XP CD, is the interface you enter also pure DOS?
======== As KO says: next time please choose a better title. |

Whether Win98 is installed or not doesn't matter. As long as you boot with a Win98 boot disk, after entering it will be in pure DOS mode.
If it's an XP CD, then it's different. It's a kind of command console mode thing. |
