I downloaded a win32 from the download section. Is it an upgrade for win98, or is it a system from before win98? Hehehe, newbie! Newbie! Newbie!
Expert, under pure DOS in 98 I'm using XP's unattend.txt for automatic installation. Is this command right? i386 is on drive E, unattend is on drive F, there is no CD-ROM or floppy drive, and smartdrv is on drive F as well. I'm installing it to drive D: F:\>smartdrv F:\>E: E:\>cd i386 E:\>I386>winnt /T /u:F:\unattend.txtI've run it like this once. I only saw it copy a lot of .sys files into the temporary files on drive D. The problem is that after those files were copied (very quickly), only the line above that seemed to say setup copies file to your hard disk stayed there for a very, very long time. The key point is that there was no file-copy progress bar like there is during a normal installation, and there was nothing below either. And the longest I waited was 1 hour 15 minutes. It was like this twice, and both times I interrupted it. When I went back to C drive win98 to check, there were only those .sys files, no temporary files like i386, etc. Where did I go wrong? When copying XP files under DOS, the longest it takes me is a little over an hour, but when installing in win98, after 1 hour it's already completely installed. I mainly just don't know where I went wrong. smartdrv was loaded too. Please clear this up for me, expert. Thank you very much, thanks! |

Maybe there's a problem with this automatic answer file?

I didn't add any commands to the answer file. I use it in a DOS window under 98, and running win32 can automate it.
There shouldn't be any problem. What I can't figure out most is that when running winnt under pure DOS, there is no copy screen. With smartdrv loaded, it should have finished copying within an hour and rebooted into the blue installation screen. |

win32 is the best GUI (graphical interface) for DOS systems before win98
As for the second question, I'll try it and talk about it later.. |

Expert, have you already tried it? Could it be that I did something wrong? (Feeling depressed~~~~~~!?)
