Could it be that the boot files are incomplete?
The keyboard is an old-style DOS keyboard (not sure whether that's the right way to put it). Could that have any effect?

I mainly want to know, "Why can't I enter DOS mode by pressing 'CTL' when WIN98 starts up?"
What needs to be explained is that the computer has an AMI BIOS installed.....
