I'm using WIN 2000 PRO. When I run a DOS program, it tells me I need more than 200K of EMS memory. But when I use mem to check my memory, EMS memory is 0K, while XMS memory is indeed over 800K. My machine doesn't have a floppy drive, so I can't boot from a floppy. Could an expert please point me to a way out—how can I get more than 200K of EMS memory? Many thanks!

Use EMM386 or UMBPCI, but can anyone provide their usage parameters?

Just directly specify the required expanded memory size.
For example: device=emm386。exe ram 4096 2048
That means configuring expanded memory with a maximum of 4MB and a minimum of 2mb.。

The poster above, where do you specify that!
You don't mean using Notepad, do you!???

Under 2000 it's all protected mode, and at startup it simply won't call config.sys and autoexec.bat anymore, so I'm afraid there's no way to set EMS.
If you can boot into DOS, modify config.sys and add device=c:\dos\emm386 ram in it, and that should do it.
